Fundraising in memory

Raising money in someone's memory is a special way to celebrate their life

Losing a loved one is so sad. We are so grateful to the many people who kindly think of our charity at such a difficult time.

Here is some information about the ways that you can fundraise in memory of a loved one. For more information please do not hesitate to call us on 07497816091 or email [email protected]

“Creating this tribute and memorial has been a perfect way to remember our dad and it has given me a very positive focus through challenging times. Thank you to the Lake District Foundation for all your help and support.” – Ros

Make a Donation in Memory

It’s easy to make a single or regular donation to remember someone special.

Your gift will support projects that care for the landscapes, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Lake District and Cumbria.

You can make a donation online here or send a cheque made payable to the Lake District Foundation at our our address below.

Funeral Collections

You may wish to collect donations at a funeral or memorial service. Your funeral director may be able to help you to organise this.

We can supply collection envelopes for people to put their donations into, which will also enable us to claim gift aid on donations and increase the amount raised by 25%

To request collection envelopes, please call 07497816091 or email [email protected].

Set up a Tribute Fund

A Tribute Fund is quick and easy to set up and it means that anyone – family, friends or colleagues – can make a contribution in whatever way they might wish, for instance, taking part in a sponsored challenge, holding a coffee morning, or simply making a gift. You will be able to check the progress of your Tribute Fund online at any time.

To set up your online Tribute Fund, simply create an “in memory page” on JustGiving, where you can tell the story of the person you’re remembering using words and photos and explain why you’re raising money in their memory:

Your friends and family can give to your page easily, safely and securely, wherever they, whenever they want to.

If you would prefer to set up an offline tribute fund (for example if you would like to collect cash and cheques), please get in touch with us.

Tips for Growing your Tribute Fund

Making gifts on special days – We understand that special days like birthdays, Christmas and anniversaries can be particularly difficult for family and friends. Your Tribute Fund gives everyone the opportunity to remember loved ones by sharing memories and making a donation to celebrate their life.

A sponsored activity – If the memory of your loved one inspires you to do something out of the ordinary why not get yourself sponsored for an event. The options are endless.

Set up a regular donation to your Tribute Fund– We rely on regular income to be able to plan for the future and ensure that we can meet the needs of children and families for years to come. By making regular payments, no matter how small, you can help ensure we will always be here for them.

Advertise your Fund by posting the link on Social Networking Sites such as Facebook or Twitter.

Thank you for thinking of us at this time. Your support really does make a difference.
