Join us for supper followed by a workshop on soils and soil testing led by Paul Arkle of Cumbria Farm Environment Partnership and then a talk from Veronica Waller of the Farmer Network on accessing the latest Grant Funding and Farm Environment Schemes.

About the speakers

Paul Arkle is an experienced Farm Environment Advisor and has provided advice and support to farmers and other land managers in Cumbria and neighbouring counties for over 25 years. He provides advice on all aspects of the farmed environment, policy and grant funding and is a member of the BASIS Professional Register – FACTS (R/FE/3751) and BASIS Soil and Water Management Certificate (SW992) qualified.

Veronica Waller is a Senior Project Manager for the Farmer Network, managing a range of projects including Grassroots Clubs, the CSS Facilitation Fund groups, a project engaging farmers about Natural Flood Management and the Storm Emma relief fund. Veronica also helps farmers with grant applications and her updates will include SFI 2024 and Countryside Stewardship.
